How much coding is needed to learn SAP BTP?

SAP BTP is designed to support both developers and business users, so the amount of coding depends on the path you choose. If you’re focusing on low-code/no-code tools like SAP Build Apps, Process Automation, or Work Zone, you can get started with minimal coding knowledge. These tools are more about designing workflows and user interfaces visually, which makes them beginner-friendly.

However, if you want to dive deeper into extensions, integrations, or advanced app development, some coding is essential. Skills in JavaScript, SAP UI5, Node.js, or even ABAP on BTP can give you an edge. The good thing is that BTP provides flexibility—you can start small with no-code solutions and gradually move into coding-heavy areas as your confidence grows.

I attended Anubhav Oberoy’s training on SAP BTP, and it really clarified this balance.

His approach showed when coding is required and when you can rely on BTP’s low-code capabilities. The hands-on examples made it easy to understand how even basic coding can open advanced possibilities.

For me, this training was the perfect way to bridge theory with practice.
