What is SAP OData?

SAP OData is a protocol that enables the creation and consumption of RESTful APIs for SAP systems. OData stands for Open Data Protocol and is an open standard that allows for the uniform access and manipulation of data from various sources, including SAP systems.

Using OData, developers can easily expose and access data from SAP systems in a secure and standardized way. OData services are built using SAP Gateway, which provides tools for generating service metadata, mapping data structures, and configuring security.

OData supports various HTTP operations such as GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE for performing CRUD operations on data. It also supports various query options such as $filter, $orderby, $select, and $expand for filtering, sorting, selecting, and expanding data.

Anubhav's YouTube videos or training can be helpful in understanding SAP OData in more detail, including how to create, consume and secure OData services in SAP systems
